Pittodrie Health Walks

Estimated Reading Time: 1 minutes

More than 20 over 65s have been participating in our Health Walks Programme funded by Aberdeen City Council and the NHS via the Change Fund over the past couple of months.

On a Tuesday morning, AFCCT’s David Smith and Dean McBain lead the group round some of Aberdeen’s famous spots like Fittie, the Cruickshank Botanics, Aberdeen Beach and Seaton Park. The Health Walk Programme encourage this target group to access physical activity and provides opportunities for additional social interaction.

David Smith, Community Projects Officer commented, “The weather for the Programme so far has been good to us, allowing the group to really enjoy their brisk walks, being outdoors and all the fantastic sights the Granite City has to offer. At AFCCT, we are delighted to be able to offer the elderly population the opportunity to take part in physical activity, starting from Pittodrie Stadium each Tuesday.”
