SPONSOR A BOX WITH AFCCT AND TLC
Local organisations, charities and community groups will have the opportunity to see football games at Pittodrie this season, as Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) and TLC join forces to sponsor the main stand box for the year ahead.
Last season saw charities and organisations such as SensationALL, CLAN, National Autistic Society, Child Brain Injury Trust and Dementia Friendly Communities enjoy the experience of watching a match in a safe environment with hospitality.
Joining to sponsor the box, AFCCT and TLC aim to provide this opportunity to more under-represented groups across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
AFCCT operates as a charity independently of Aberdeen Football Club and aims to provide support and the change to change lives for the better throughout the North-east.
The charity engages with more than 17,000 participants each year across 60 programmes and initiatives, with volunteers from the organisation delivering more than 5,000 hours of free community support in their spare time.
TLC, is a local charity which runs the largest food bank in Aberdeen, with distribution sites in Torry, Kincorth and Garthdee, as well as delivering to areas such as Portlethen and Peterculter.
TLC also runs two school breakfast clubs and a primary-aged youth engagement project across Ferryhill, Broomhill and Garthdee.
During Saturday’s match against Kilmarnock, TLC guests Scott and Simone Sutherland and their children, Sherilee, Shannon and Scott Junior enjoyed watching from the Main Stand Box.
Scott said: “This is the first time we have ever been able to watch a game as a complete family. It was a fantastic experience and we would like to say thank you to TLC and AFCCT for making this happen.”
Sponsoring the box breaks down many barriers and provides a relaxed and secure environment for individuals, families and groups to see an Aberdeen match which they can treasure and which they may not have had the opportunity to experience before.
AFCCT’s chief executive Ally Prockter said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Main Stand Box with TLC as this partnership enables us to give support to many of our own participants as well as other local organisations.
“It was great to see TLC enjoying the box on Saturday and we look forward to welcoming other charities and community groups to benefit from the box this season where they can enjoy a welcoming and social environment for like-minded individuals and groups.”
Richard Brookes, chairman at TLC, said: “It’s fantastic to be sponsoring the Main Stand Box this season and to be able to offer this unique experience to those who may not have been able to attend a match otherwise.
“We are looking forward to inviting different charities and groups to the box and hope that our partnership with AFCCT will help to emphasise the importance of making experiences such as these accessible for all.”
