Over the 2018/19 school year, AFCCT worked in partnership with CFINE to provide nearly 7,000 meals to pupils across Aberdeen City & Shire through the AFCCT Partner Schools Initiative. This partnership will continue in the 2019/20 school year, providing a healthy & balanced meal to school pupils at Breakfast Clubs & Footy Teas.

CFINE is a social enterprise committed to social, environmental and economic development with the aim of improving health and wellbeing, tackling poverty and building resilience in local communities within the North East of Scotland.

CFINE Deputy Chief Executive Fiona Rae said, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with AFCCT over the next year.  This essential support service has proved to be hugely successful and we hope that the further schools join the partnership throughout 2019/20.”

Harley Hamdani, Education Officer at AFCCT, added “the partnership over the past year has allowed for positive activity to be accompanied by a healthy meal, which in turn has supported some of the children we’ve worked with to increase their capacity to engage in their learning when back in the classroom. This would not have been possible without CFINE’s support and we are looking forward continuing the partnership over the next year.”
