Aberdeen FC Community Trust are proud to be part of the EFDN STEM Football and Education Programme which looks to offer equal opportunities to children and develop their knowledge with new technology.

The EFDN STEM Football & Education Programme is a pan‐European project selected for financial support from the UEFA Foundation for Children aiming to promote STEM Education amongst young people across Europe. STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – helps children learn how to program, make codes and understand technological devices. With the support of project partner Sphero and their supplemental resources, EFDN plans to deliver STEM Education programmes across Europe using the power of football to keep children engaged and committed to learning.

Through the STEM Project, Aberdeen FC Community Trust have delivered the curriculum to 448 pupils across 9 of our Partner Schools through a 6 week programme allowing pupils the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of STEM activities and develop an understanding of new technologies.

Dyce Primary class teacher Sarah Black said:

“David inspired the kids through an excellent variety of STEM tasks, that were fun, challenging, and educational. It was a fantastic project to be part of, the kids already miss their Wednesday afternoons with you!”

“The sessions from David were very much welcomed at Dyce School.  They were so engaging for all our pupils and really upskilled their computing skills through the series of motivating and challenging activities.  The activities were also an excellent platform for developing teamwork, problem solving and creativity. This has definitely been a highlight of this session and has enriched our curriculum offer.”

Hear what pupils from Dales Park School had to say about STEM:
