COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | Buchanhaven PRIMARY SCHOOL

Estimated Reading Time: 1 minutes

Buchanhaven Primary School is located in the North-East town of Peterhead and have been an AFCCT Partner School since 2017. Over the course of the Community Champions League pupils have been busy visiting a local care home to sing for the residents and raising over £500 for Comic Relief and Cancer Research. The school looked at the UN Climate Change Conference in December and their P4/5 classes planted trees ensuring we have a healthier environment in the future.

Lauren Norris, Buchanhaven Cluster Principal Teacher, said:

“The CCL gives us the opportunity to promote the fantastic activities and community actions we are already taking part in in Buchanhaven School but it also encourages us to do more! The CCL helps us to celebrate and create many learning opportunities for pupils throughout the whole school and it makes it all the more exciting when competitive points are involved! It also encourages us to do more good deeds in our community. We wish all the schools involved in the CCL well and hope it brings the same sense of fun and achievement to them as it does to us in Buchanhaven”.

Buchanhaven Pupil said:

“It is good to get the whole school involved in something and get everyone together. It makes people want to do more things like litter picking because it’s for a competition. It’s good for me to have another responsibility along with being a House Captain”.
