From: Altrincham, just South of Manchester

Who do you attend games with? My wife Lora, Dad or friends

Where do you sit at Pittodrie? Lately I’ve been fortunate enough to be in the Directors’ Box, but I had a season ticket in the Upper Richard Donald Stand for quite a few years and the South Stand before that.

How do you follow the Dons games when you are not there? I have my phone set for updates on every match, but I often end up glued to the Aberdeen FC Twitter feed even when I’m out and about. Refresh, refresh, refresh…

Any good stories of when you have been trying to follow a game when you have been elsewhere? There have been a couple of times when I’ve been racing the same day as a match. It’s always a bit difficult as our team rule says you can’t use your phone in our team pit area. It’s pretty hard to be stealthy and check your phone when you are visually impaired and need to hold it up to your face to see it, but I usually get away with it! And then there was the recent match against Celtic, which was on my wedding day, poor planning!

When and why did you start supporting Aberdeen? I was born and grew up in Aberdeen, my family all supported the team and so I was a Don from birth really.

Early memories of the Dons? I remember the JVC sponsored shirts and finishing runners up in the league in the late 80’s. Unfortunately I’m a little too young to remember the European successes.

First game at Pittodrie? At home to Motherwell, think I was five, we lost 2-1. We lost most of the home matches I went to at first, I think I got to around 10 losses in a row, so my family banned me from going for a while. I have seen the team win since though, so I’m not really sure if I was to blame!

Favourite Aberdeen game? Beating Rangers 2-0 on the last day on the season to make it in to Europe.

Favourite Aberdeen Goal? Funniest was Darren Mackie scoring when the (I think) Kilmarnock keeper threw the ball out, it hit Darren on the back of the head and rolled in to the goal. But I have to say the recent Maddison free-kick winner against Rangers at Pittodrie was pretty special.

Best player seen at Pittodrie? That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say Hicham Zerouali. He was a special talent in his day.

Favourite all time player? Growing up I was always a big fan of Eoin Jess. I’d always pretend I was him when I was playing on the school field at lunchtime.

Favourite kit? The Abtrust white away kit from the early 90’s, purely as it was the first kit I got.

Favourite away trip? Probably at Tannadice, always enjoyed matches against them, and winning down there was always good.

Favourite ever European Trip? Never been able to make a European trip as I’ve never been able to get away from training long enough. Might try and take one in next season if (when) we qualify. My friends always talk about the Atletico Madrid trip which I wanted to go on but couldn’t.

Your all time Dons XI:
1. Jim Leighton
2. Kevin McNaughton
3. Alex McLeish
4. Willie Miller
5. Russell Anderson
6. Neil Simpson
7. Eoin Jess
8. Gordon Strachan
9. Joe Harper
10. Duncan Shearer
11. Hicham Zerouali

Best opposition player seen at Pittodrie? Henrik Larsson, lost count of how many goals I’ve seen him score at Pittodrie.

Any additional stories, emotional, funny etc. you would like to share? Towards the end of 2012 I was offered the chance to do the half-time draw at Pittodrie. It was a great honour, but my memory of it is that, I was with my girlfriend, now wife, Lora. Lora had her guide dog Libby with her. When Angus the Bull came running out, Libby was a bit confused by the 6ft fluffy bull who smelled and sounded like a human and barked at him a few times. They eventually made their peace and Angus went home unharmed.

Finally, the best thing about being a Dons fan? The noise the Dons fans make, especially on trips to Hampden, always make me proud. That and the pies, obviously!
