"The Sheep Are On Fire"
Ahead of our Scottish Cup Final with Celtic next weekend a Dons daft songwriter, Sourfish, has teamed up with the club to release a unique pop song, ‘The Sheep Are On Fire’.
The song, written by Gavin Simpson, is dedicated to the current playing team with all proceeds from downloads of the song going to the Aberdeen FC Community Trust.
With lyrics mostly found on the terraces of Pittodrie, the song won the author a place on a seminar with a Grammy winning song writer and was written following a casual conversation with fellow Dandies after the emphatic 7-0 defeat of Dundee FC.
Gavin hopes the song can inspire a victory for the Dons, while also helping to support the Aberdeen FC Community Trust.
Ally Prockter, AFC Community Trust Chief Executive also believe the catchy tune will rouse the Dons support;
“The excitement is really beginning to build ahead of the Scottish Cup Final and ‘The sheep are on fire’ is the perfect song to get all Aberdeen supporters in the mood for this big match.
“We’re delighted Gavin has written such a fantastic song and kindly agreed to help raise funds for the AFC Community Trust.
“We would urge the Red Army to download the song and show their support to Derek and the team, whilst also helping to make difference in their local community through the AFC Community Trust.”
The song is available to download on all digital stores with all money raised going to Aberdeen FC Community Trust! It's also available to listen to now on YouTube
