Neil Hendry

Neil began his career at Robert Gordon’s College as a PE teacher, before moving to St Machar Academy where he served as Principal Teacher of Guidance, Assistant Head and Deputy Head Teacher. Neil then spent 2 years as a Quality Improvement Officer for Aberdeen City Council and was Head Teacher at Northfield Academy. Neil spent five years as Head Teacher at Lochside Academy, overseeing the opening of the school. In 2022, Neil became Head Teacher at Inverurie Academy.

Neil was strategic Lead for Health Promoting Schools and Health and Wellbeing in Aberdeen City, which lead to his involvement in a number of national and local steering groups. He is a Burgess of the City of Aberdeen.

Neil played Rugby League for Scotland, Scotland Students and Great Britain Students. He also played Rugby Union for Aberdeen Grammar School FPs and captained an Ellon Rugby Football Club team. He is a regular golfer and a Member of Kintore Golf Club. He is a lifelong Dons fan and season ticket holder.
