Pittodrie Health Walks
In June Aberdeen FC Community Trust started the Pittodrie Health Walks programme in partnership with Aberdeen City Council. The programme is aimed at over 65’s to help improve the health and well-being of members of the community.
Participants met every Tuesday at Pittodrie Stadium then went on a health walk around the local area. In the 12 week programme the group walked to Footdee, the Botanic Gardens and also visited Crathes and Drum Castles. After the walk the participants went back to Pittodrie for a chance to relax and enjoy the opportunity to have some refreshments and a chat with the group.
One health walker summed up the programme by saying “This has been a fantastic way to spend the summer. I’ve had a ball” With over 25 participants taken part the group walked a combined distance of over 700 miles.
