During the 2017/18 season event and food specialists at Aberdeen Football Club, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, announced their fundraising initiative to support Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) and since then, five pence from the sale of every Pittodrie Pie has been donated.

During the last season, over £2,500 was raised with 50,000 fans enjoying a pie during the game.

Sodexo and the club hope more fans and visitors to the stadium during the 2018/19 season will enjoy a Pittodrie Pie with the knowledge with while enjoying a tasty snack during the match they are also supporting AFCCT.

AFCCT became the official charity partner of AFC in 2014 and are actively involved in a diverse range of projects across Aberdeen and the Shire. With over 60 programmes being delivered to involve as many people as possible in physical activities, while promoting positive health, fitness and wellbeing.

Debra Christie, Fundraising and Business Development Co-ordinator for Aberdeen FC Community Trust said: “It is so important for us to have a steady stream of funds to help us continue the work we do in Aberdeen City and Shire and the Pittodrie Pie donation from Sodexo is such a simple but effective one.
